Way back on February 11th I posted a journal about a contest for celebration of my 100 watches. Only 5 people got involved and of the 5 only 4 actually contributed art and 1 of them deleted there work so I no longer have access to it. Due to lack of participants I am closing it now for it has been up way too long. So congratulations to those of you who participated!! I will give a critique for each peace, and hopes to see more great work for everyone!
For 3rd place I give to
for their piece here "Foxy"
First I like to say I can tell you must have worked hard on this piece. Now I see you took a picture of this using a camera of some kind. My advice is if you are taking a picture of traditional art to make sure to do it in a place with brighter lighting and to always be careful not to shadow over it! I also noticed you have very sketchy lines. I used to draw like that when I was starting myself. One way to help correct that is to lightly draw out then go over it again with darker lines or even use a black pen or sharpie marker, then erase the messy lines. Also maybe add more shading or colors to really help it stand out! Now assuming your a beginner, your anatomy is overall pretty well done! I especially like how you did the ear on my character, you have a lot of room for improvement and I can see a lot of p[otential looking at this and many of you other works great job overall!! Your use of color in your traditional artwork is really impressive! I can't wait to watch you improve!! <3 <3
I hope you guys can check this artist out and give them your support!!
The 3rd Place Prize Is A Choice Between 1 Icon, 1Headshot Drawing, or 1 Full Art No Shade (remember you can only pick one, you can either comment or note me your choice)
Now For 2nd Place Goes To
for their piece here "o yea mr krabs"
Now overal I don't have much to add to this. The way you color and shaded this is really nicely done. The only thing I think is off for the most part is maybe the anatomy of the hair with the eye. I understand this is part of the style of some artwork but the way it was done is almost distracting to the rest of the piece. I think a way to have solved this is to maybe move the hair around the eye more or making the eye just a little bit smaller. But other then that the overall work of the piece is nothing but amazing. I do enjoy a lot of your artwork and the way you do your characters and think you have grown a lot as an artist but not only that I can see you have a lot to improve on as well and will become a great artist! I can't wait to see more of your work as you progress further.
I hope you guys can check them out and give them your support!
The 2nd Place Price Is A Choice Of 1 or 2 Icons 1 or 2 Head shots and 1 or 2 Full Body No to Minimum Shading ( You get 2 choices each one can be different or 2 of the same ) You can tell me your pick under the comments or you can note me!
And Finally 1st Place Goes To
for their piece "Contest Entry For Palette Foxxy" (awesome title
Overall I have nothing bad to say about this piece. I love the fact that you stuck with your style and the colors mesh well with the background. Also the simplicity of the background isn't distracting and goes well with it. Plus the light and shading are very well done and constant. Plus I just love the expression of the face and the overall anatomy was nicely done! Your work is getting better and better and I love your creativity! Keep up the good work I look forward to watching you improve!!
First PlacePrize Is 2 commissions of their choice including full detail art (You get 2 in total) Note or comment below what you would like to have done
